Business leaders, local officials and union workers celebrated the installation of the final structural beam supporting the permanent Bally’s Chicago Casino on April 30. Bally’s Executive Chairman Soo Kim, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, and former Mayor Lori Lightfoot were among those attending the event. The $1.7 billion development along the Chicago River will include hotel, entertainment and dining components and generate millions in annual tax revenue for the city. DMA worked with Bally’s Chicago on its winning casino proposal and continues to support progress on the permanent casino complex, with the casino expected to open in early 2027.

Owners of the modern Italian restaurant Adalina, in Chicago’s Gold Coast, are opening a new restaurant in a prominent spot in the neighborhood. Arla will feature Mediterranean and Japanese-influenced cuisine and occupy the top floor at 15 E. Oak Street, an 8,500-square-foot, sixth-floor space that once housed Fred’s at Barney’s New York. Expansive windows and two terraces will offer city views extending to Lake Michigan. Working on behalf of building owner ASB, DMA is coordinating closely with the Arla team to facilitate the space transformation and planned summer opening.

Miami Worldcenter Draws Buyers

South Florida’s largest transit-oriented development and one of the largest mixed-use developments in the U.S., Miami Worldcenter transformed 27 acres of long-neglected property to a vibrant new destination in Downtown Miami. CIM Group and its partners announced the recent sale of the development’s retail and entertainment district to a venture comprising Falcone Group, ROK Acquisitions, Andrew Mirmelli, The Davis Companies (Davis) and Jamestown. This district includes 300,000 square feet of retail, dining and entertainment businesses as well as parks, plazas and parking. DMA helped lead retail tenant delivery efforts for the multiphase, mixed-use development, which also features residential and hotel components.

A multi-year journey to bring Major League Soccer to Miami ended with Inter Miami CF’s inaugural game at Nu Stadium on April 4. The newly completed stadium seats 26,700 fans and serves as the centerpiece of Miami Freedom Park, a $1 billion development that will grow to include additional retail, entertainment, hotel and commercial components along with a public plaza and park. DMA congratulates Inter Miami owners David Beckham, Jorge Mas and Jose Mas, who made the new stadium a reality and continue to advance Miami Freedom Park. Inter Miami played in Fort Lauderdale for the past six years prior to the opening of its new permanent home.

Chicago Fire Football Club officially broke ground on its new soccer stadium in The 78, an emerging riverfront neighborhood in Chicago’s South Loop. The privately funded, $750 million stadium project represents a transformative investment in the city and is expected to open ahead of the 2028 MLS season. City leaders, project partners, and community stakeholders joined Club Owner and Chairman Joe Mansueto and President of Business Operations Dave Baldwin at the ceremonial groundbreaking. Serving as the permanent home for Chicago Fire FC and hosting other events year-round, the open-air stadium will anchor additional development in the area and offer a world-class experience to fans, players and community members. DMA assisted with site selection, due diligence, feasibility and entitlements support for the project and congratulates Chicago Fire FC on this new milestone.

Miami Freedom Park, the largest active real estate development in Miami, announced the first tenants coming to its Entertainment District in Phase 1: Fever, the leading global live-entertainment discovery platform behind popular immersive experiences; PopStroke, the Tiger Woods-backed golf entertainment venue; and Toroverde, the world-renowned adventure park brand. Space for these three tenants totals 125,000 square feet, anchoring a planned 500,000 square feet of retail, dining and entertainment concepts expected to open in 2026 alongside a 58-acre public park and the new 25,000-seat stadium for Major League Soccer’s Inter Miami CF.
