Crain’s Chicago Business, April 17, 2026
Owners of the modern Italian restaurant Adalina, in Chicago’s Gold Coast, are opening a new restaurant in a prominent spot in the neighborhood. Arla will feature Mediterranean and Japanese-influenced cuisine and occupy the top floor at 15 E. Oak Street, an 8,500-square-foot, sixth-floor space that once housed Fred’s at Barney’s New York. Expansive windows and two terraces will offer city views extending to Lake Michigan. Working on behalf of building owner ASB, DMA is coordinating closely with the Arla team to facilitate the space transformation and planned summer opening.
