A prominent building at the corner of Oak and Rush Streets in Chicago’s Gold Coast underwent a significant redesign. The departure of flagship retail tenant Barney’s created an opportunity to reconfigure the space to invite multiple retail and office uses. The project included renovations to the existing core and shell and the addition of a first-floor office lobby, with modern and art deco influences.
DMA team members were involved with the building’s initial build-out for Barney’s and supported this major reconfiguration, from initial demolition through project completion. Spec suites on the third floor and additional space on floors four and five accommodate office tenants. Retail spaces of varied sizes occupy the lower level and first and second floors. The top floor offers nearly 12,000 square feet of restaurant space.
