Chicago Housing Authority officials are gathering community feedback and holding open houses for residents, neighbors and potential developers as part of a renewed redevelopment effort for Cabrini-Green, a former site of high-rise public housing. Plans for the 65-acre, five-block area still open for redevelopment include retail and residential components, with a mix of subsidized and market-rate units. DMA worked with the CHA and UrbanWorks Ltd. to assess the area’s potential for retail and is assisting with the preparation of RFPs to be issued to developers.
