The University of South Florida’s School of Architecture and Community Design (SACD) recognized DMA’s Jason Westrope with its Distinguished Alumni Award this year. Jason is only the fourth person to receive this annual honor, established in 2010. SACD was founded with a focus on sustainable community design and development, and Jason earned a Master of Architecture from the school in 1997. On behalf of DMA clients, he has led numerous sustainable development projects and LEED initiatives; including the development of almost an acre of green roof in Chicago, nearly a megawatt of photovoltaics in Los Angeles and the first LEED Gold Certified Casino in the world, Rivers Casino. Jason serves as the Co-Chair of both the USGBC Illinois Education and Research Committee and the Hispanic American Construction Industry Association (HACIA) Sustainability and Technology Committee. Jason became a LEED accredited professional in 2003.
