Des Plaines River Road reconstruction could begin Monday

A reconstruction and widening project on Des Plaines River Road between Touhy and Devon avenues is set to begin June 14. Work will be funded primarily by the Illinois Department of Transportation, with contributions from the city of Des Plaines, village of Rosemont, and Midwest Gaming and Entertainment, LLC. Midwest Gaming is developing a 147,000-square-foot casino on a 20-acre site at the northwest corner of River Road and Devon Avenue and will contribute $320,000 to upgrade traffic signals at that intersection and $140,000 to speed road reconstruction. Development Management Associates is serving as development manager and providing LEED consulting services to Midwest Gaming for the casino project.
