A longtime client exploring the adaptive reuse of an existing big box retail space sought DMA’s expertise in feasibility and due diligence work, to evaluate the potential to accommodate a new Whole Foods grocery store. DMA performed feasibility studies including an assessment of dry utility infrastructure, interior and exterior soil conditions, site grading and parking, and fire suppression systems. The team identified permitting needs and timelines and all landlord delivery requirements and costs.

Work on the client’s behalf extended to lease negotiating, along with the work letter, with the tenant and developing a full project schedule for delivering space to the new Whole Foods, located in the Courtyard at Carmel Mountain Ranch.
