Mass General Imaging at Assembly Row

Share on twitter Share on LinkedIn Share via email

The mixed-use development Assembly Row created a new neighborhood near the Mystic River in Somerville, Massachusetts. Office and lab space serves varied tenants alongside residential, retail, entertainment and recreation options. When Mass General Imaging committed to opening a new outpatient MRI facility at Assembly Row, DMA worked on behalf of ownership to plan and manage construction, delivering space that met detailed lease and building requirements.

As the central point of coordination for all work to the existing building, DMA communicated with building management, the architect, contractors and vendors. The team ensured all needed infrastructure was modified and in place prior to the start of construction, provided value-engineering support in the creation of construction documents, oversaw compliance with all requirements, and coordinated staging, hoists and traffic control during construction. Work included an upgrade of the building’s electrical distribution service to the power level needed for MRI equipment. The project was the first operational medical facility in the Mass General Brigham building and among the first at Assembly Row.
