Located at the prominent retail corner of Rush and Walton Streets in Chicago’s gold coast area, the project involved an expansion and update of retail space integrated into the base of the 900 North Michigan parking garage.
DMA led the effort to expand, both horizontally and vertically, the retail presence at the corners of Walton and Rush and Delaware and Rush. These two prominent corners had housed retailed since the building's opening, however there was a need to expand into underutilized utility and operation space and a demand for lager tenant facades.
The unique configurtion of the existing space required structural modifications and relocation of service equipment to expand the amount of usable space for the proposed retailers. Working with Shapiro Associates Architects and 2CG Inc. Contractors, DMA orchestrated the project with minimal disruption to the buildings other uses.
