Our client involved DMA early in the process of pursuing a new casino and entertainment development in Schenectady, New York. We worked closely with Rush Street Gaming to create a site plan for Rivers Casino and Resort at Mohawk Harbor that reflected community input and won city plan commission approval. The project successfully secured a license from the state gaming commission.
As the team moved toward an ambitious opening date, DMA provided additional resources and onsite support, managing construction and overseeing project progress in collaboration with the general contractor. The $330 million facility includes a 51,000-square-foot gaming floor, a marketplace, a steakhouse, a sports and entertainment lounge, two bars, a spa, and a banquet and event space accommodating 600 people. The contemporary design incorporates natural light throughout. A 165-key hotel, opening shortly after the casino, is directly connected. The project achieved LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Rivers Casino and Resort at Mohawk Harbor expands public access to the waterfront and brings some 1,200 jobs to the area. The entire project is part of a larger, 60-acre development by the Galesi Group with apartments, townhouses, retail and office space, a harbor with 50 boat slips, and biking and walking paths along the Mohawk River.
