Constellation Place Solar

Our client undertook the installation of a 431 kW rated photovoltaic (PV) system on the underutilized top level of a large parking deck serving MGM Tower (now Constellation Place). Timing was tight: federal incentives that sped the return-on-investment for solar technology were set to expire at year end. DMA managed the efficient transformation of the split rooftop space into a significant source of energy savings that beat the client’s ROI expectations.

At the time, this PV system was the third largest to be installed on a private rooftop in Los Angeles. With 1,400 Schott panels, it generates enough energy to offset more than 12% of annual energy use and reduce daytime demand by up to 30%. DMA selected the solar integrator and closely managed onsite work in this notable Class-A office district to ensure that the $3.2 million project qualified for all incentives. Sonar technology guided placement of the solar racking system to preserve the structural strength of the post tensioned deck.
