When fast-growing fitness studio SoulCycle chose Chicago’s 1225 Old Town building for its first Midwest location, ownership sought DMA’s expertise in retail tenant delivery to ensure a smooth and speedy opening. The cycling studio, which combines spinning and upper-body weight workouts in candlelit rooms, has gained celebrity attention and a cult following since its 2006 start in New York.

DMA worked with contractors, building management, ownership and studio representatives to deliver the perfect space for SoulCycle’s Chicago launch, opened April 2015. In addition to the new, 3,200-square-foot SoulCycle gym, the 1225 N. Wells development includes apartments, a Plum Market grocery store and an Intelligentsia coffee shop. SoulCycle plans to open 50 to 60 studios worldwide by 2016.
