Groundbreaking for the Chicago Fire’s Performance Center on the Near West Side drew City officials, representatives of the Chicago Housing Authority, and Chicago Fire FC ownership. Rooted in a true public-private partnership, the center will serve as a world-class training environment for the Fire’s professional and Academy players and help to generate jobs, resources for housing and community spaces, and much more for local residents.
Preceding groundbreaking, DMA provided advisory services for the project, analyzing costs and advising ownership on feasibility matters. DMA continues to provide intermittent cost, schedule and project status review services during the rapid build out of the Performance Center through turnover. The multimillion-dollar facility includes a 53,000-square-foot performance center, two-and-a-half hybrid grass pitches, and three synthetic turf pitches. In addition to financing and constructing the facility, the Fire is making an $8 million investment in nearby CHA housing. Long-term, the lease is estimated to generate $40 million in revenue for the CHA over the next 40 years, to be invested in its mission and properties.
