Rivers Casino

Financial problems stalled a waterfront casino project in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in July 2008, leaving construction some 30 percent complete. DMA was called in to quickly perform due diligence services by a private investment group. DMA's financial analysis, recommendations, and recovery schedule enabled this new ownership to purchase the project and get the Rivers Casino back on track during one of the most difficult economic periods in U.S. history.

Starting in August 2008, DMA's team oversaw development, project accounting and construction work through the casino's grand opening in August 2009. The 400,000 square-foot entertainment complex is adjacent to the Heinz Field football stadium and features:
  • 100,000 square feet of gaming space
  • Four restaurants and four bars and lounges
  • A 10-story, 3,800-space parking structure
  • A central atrium chandelier with a changing display of 40,000 LED lights
  • A new public outdoor amphitheatre, overlooking the Ohio River, with pedestrian access to North Shore Riverfront Park
One of DMA's first tasks after the acquisition was to lead a redesign of the partly built casino which affected the featured restaurant and two signature bar venues. DMA achieved the client's vision and accomplished the effort without adverse impact on the project's cost or schedule.
