A 200,000-square-foot luxury fashion and restaurant destination emerged on the first two floors of Brookfield Place in New York City, formerly the World Financial Center. Distinctive tenants include retailers Hermes, Salvatore Ferragamo and Diane von Furstenberg, the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE), and Le District, a 25,000-square-foot French marketplace. Brookfield Place ownership selected DMA to lead this significant retail tenant delivery effort, involving more than 40 tenancies and six signature restaurants.

The project’s opening timeline began in late spring 2014 with the planned opening of Hudson Eats, a fast-casual chef-driven dining terrace featuring 14 best-in-class eateries. An Equinox fitness club opened in early 2015, followed by the French marketplace and the full collection of fashion retailers and restaurants in spring 2015. DMA worked closely with landlord and tenant design and construction teams to achieve the highest quality architectural results. Our efforts also helped to expedite progress, minimize disruption during phased construction, and amplify the market impact of the Brookfield Place grand opening.

Situated in New York’s Financial District and adjacent to the 9/11 Memorial, Brookfield Place is part of a changing retail landscape in lower Manhattan bringing new energy and amenities to the area.
