Brill Building

Built in the 1930s near Times Square, the Brill Building is an 11-story landmark office property. Situated on Broadway, the 175,000-square-foot building with art deco style once housed offices and studios connected with the 1960s music industry and artists like Neil Diamond and Carole King. After assuming ownership of the historic building in 2017, Brookfield undertook a restoration and improvement effort and asked DMA to provide assistance and oversight.

Work includes restoration of the exterior façade, renovation of the ground floor lobby, escalator and elevator improvements, roof replacement, and enhancements to existing office floors. DMA team members are also facilitating the opening of an 18,000-square-foot tenant in a corner space on the ground and second floors. All work to buildings with landmark designations like Brill requires the prior approval of the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission.
