Barneys New York
Open in April, 2009, DMA is proud to have served as the Development Manager for M Development on the new Barneys New York flagship store at Oak and Rush Streets in Chicago. The replacement flag ship location for Barneys was designed by Gensler and built by W. E. O'Neil to obtain a LEED-CS certification and was processed through the Chicago Green Permit Program. DMA was active in all phases of lease negotiation, design supervision, phased construction procurement, and project accounting through the conclusion of the shell and core and the transition into the start of the interior fit-out. The structure includes 95,000 square feet of retail including five floors of luxury department store, a 5,000 square foot small shop, and a penthouse level Fred's restaurant. During the construction of the LEED-CS structure over 93% of demolition waste was recycled and the roof incorporates 6,000 sf of extensive green roof.
