Jason Westrope has spent 15 years in development consulting, development management, and urban design, driving greater success for numerous high-profile projects across the country. To clients of Development Management Associates, LLC (DMA), Jason brings particular expertise in sustainable development and LEED initiative management, professional design experience, comprehensive development foresight and outstanding project management skills.

Jason is a thought leader at DMA in the areas of sustainability, green building, and energy reduction initiatives and is committed to building and sharing his expertise within the broader community. Among his accomplishments for DMA clients, Jason managed the third largest solar installation in Los Angeles, California, at Constellation Place: a 372 kW AC PV system on the upper deck of a parking structure. He also provided development consulting and project management services for the LEED-CS Barneys New York specialty department store in Chicago, Illinois-a 100,000-square-foot, build-to-suit facility.

Prior to joining DMA, Jason served as assistant vice president of development for Urban Retail Properties. In previous roles, he served as project manager and led tenant coordination in the grand openings for five nationally recognized regional shopping centers. Jason has worked as a senior project manager with Transwestern Commercial Services, as a private urban design and planning consultant, and as a consultant with HDR Engineering, Inc., specializing in new town planning, sustainable development, and transit-oriented design. He gained experience as an architect and in corporate interior design with HOK Chicago and clemmonsArchitecture in St. Petersburg, Florida. Jason began his career as a design associate for the Florida Center for Community Design and Research, where he contributed to several community design plans and worked with municipal governments throughout Florida and in the southeast.

Branson Landing, Branson, MO: lifestyle center (waterfront retail and entertainment), development and tenant coordination consulting, $110 million, 500,000 square feet
The Glen Town Center, Glenview, IL: publicly funded mixed-use centerpiece of award-winning redevelopment project (resulting from a Naval Air Station base closure)
The Streets at Southpoint, Durham, NC: hybrid mall (exterior retail and entertainment), new development, $120 million, 1.3 million square feet, 96% occupancy, 122 stores, 525,000 square feet at grand opening
Galleria at Roseville, Sacramento, CA: hybrid mall (exterior retail and entertainment), new development, 106 stores, 97% occupancy, 388,000 square feet at grand opening
Citrus Park Town Center, Tampa, FL: regional center, 120 stores, 98% occupancy, 445,000 square feet at grand opening

Jason holds a master of architecture from the University of South Florida, where he graduated with honors. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech. He is a LEED Accredited Professional as granted by the U.S. Green Building Council and regularly contributes to teaching architecture and urban design at the university level. Jason is also the current co-chair of the USGBC Illinois Chapter Strategic Education Committee and co-chair of the HACIA Sustainability and Technology Committee.
