The Newhouse Architecture & Design Competition, presented by the Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF), offers an annual opportunity for Chicago teens with a passion for architecture and design to showcase their talents. The 2014 competition attracted entries in 12 different divisions. DMA principal Charles Porter served on a diverse team of jurors assessing student work related to “Photography and Film: People and Place.” All entrants are eligible to apply for opportunities that include paid internships at Chicago firms and a unique study experience at Taliesin.
DMA supports the CAF as a corporate partner and is committed to its mission of promoting quality building design and education. In addition to contributing time to the Newhouse competition, Charles serves on the CAF Auxiliary Board.
